ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Determines practicality of new software products and/or product enhancements.
· Serves as focal point for other departments on project status or other project information.
· Monitors product development from initiation and planning through completion.
· Works with other executives to plan and establish product goals and development strategies.
· Ensures software projects are completed and properly documented according to product specifications, time lines, and corporate quality standards.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
BS/BA degree in Computer Science or related engineering field. Advanced degree desired. Additionally, a minimum of 12 years experience managing Software Design and Development for an Internet Based Company or a company with a large internet presence. Additionally, a minimum of 5 years management experience required.

· Collaborates with various programming and product groups within the company to ensure the required features and modifications are included in the appropriate releases to support cross-product features.
· Evaluates new technologies and software products to determine feasibility and desirability of incorporating their capabilities within the company products.
· Keeps informed of status of projects and makes recommendations as necessary.
· Keeps Senior Management informed of department progress and problems.
· Keeps informed of new developments, trends and recommends computer operation expansion or replacements based on current and projected activity.
· Other duties that are within education and experience or the incumbent may be assigned for the betterment of the company.

· Experience in a LAMP environment is required.
· Proven experience in leading architecture design of high transaction web sites.
